Pro Club Football tours at PSG
Every school has a sizable handful of students who seem to be totally obsessed with the beautiful game. When they are not playing it, they seem to spend every waking moment thinking about it, and dreaming of what life would be like as a professional footballer in one of the world’s finest teams. Our football pro club experience trips give your school’s footie nuts a rare opportunity to glimpse into the workings of some of the most successful clubs in Europe and the level of skill needed to make at the top of the game. We have good relationship with top UK and European clubs including current French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Founded in 1970 when the former club Paris FC merged with Stade St Germain, PSG has gone on to become a major name in European football. Boasting a roster of talent such as Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic (who at some 110 goals, is PSG’s all-time top goal scorer), the club have claimed many European trophies including the UEFA Cup Winners Cup in 1996 and the Intertoto Cup in 2001. Domestically, they continue to dominate the French “Ligue 1”, winning the top league six times, including the last four seasons. The only other French club which can come close to their success and widespread popularity are PSG’s arch rivals, Olympique de Marseille.
Paris St Germain’s home ground is the 48,712 capacity Parc des Princes stadium in the south west of the city. As the 4th largest football stadium in France, the ground was one of France’s venues for the 1998 FIFA World Cup, and will also host games at the upcoming Euro 2016 Championships. The ground is close to PSG’s official headquarters and training centre in western Paris, Camp des Loges (which is also home to the PSG Women’s team and Youth Academy).
The pro club football experience tours we organise at Paris St Germain can be tailored to fit the specific wishes and budget of the school party. However, a tour would typically include two days of training at Camp des Loges with PSG’s professional coaches, organised friendly matches against local (youth) clubs and a guided tour of the magnificent Parc des Princes Stadium. Of course it would be a shame to not take the opportunity to see something of the wonderful French capital too, so we always make time in the itinerary to see some of Paris’ iconic sights or even a day trip to the nearby Euro Disney resort.
A pro club football experience trip to Paris St Germain combines a great sporting experience with a cultural one too. It would be no surprise if students can be heard singing PSG’s famous football chant “Allez Paris St Germain” (sung to the tune of “Go West” by the Village People) all the way home.
