Subject Specific Visits

The Palace of Versailles

Former French royal residence, the 17th century Palace of Versailles is now a World Heritage Site and national landmark. Located a short distance to the west of Paris, visit the Royal Apartments, Hall of Mirrors, the Chapel, Opera House and the Park and Gardens.

Invalides Army Museum

The Invalides Army Museum was originally built as a hospital for disabled soldiers. The museum has a huge military collection covering the period from the middle ages through to the modern day. The dome houses the Tomb of Napoleon.

Conciergerie & Saint-Chapelle

Originally a medieval royal palace, this imposing Gothic residence was later converted into a prison and Revolutionary court during the French Revolution, and famously held Marie-Antoinette whilst awaiting the guillotine. The adjacent Saint-Chapelle church has amazing architecture stained glass windows.

Catacombs of Paris

The Catacombs are a network of tunnels that were originally a limestone quarry. In the 18th century with disease devastating the population, the Government decided to move the city's corpses and skeletons to the tunnels. It is thought they hold the remains of over 6 million people.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1

Morning departure from UK for journey to Paris. Arrival and transfer to your accommodation and check in. Free time for possible orientation and walking tour of the city. Evening at leisure.

Day 2

Morning visit to the Conciergerie and Saint-Chapelle. A chance to grab some lunch before making your way to the Invalides Army Museum for afternoon visit. Early evening Seine River cruise and then free time at leisure in the city.

Day 3

Enjoy a full day visit to the Palace of Versailles and Gardens. Evening at leisure in Montmartre.

Day 4

Take a morning trip up the Montparnasse Tower with spectacular panoramic views of the Eiffel Tower, Paris and beyond. Some possible last minute shopping before making your way back to the UK.
